Show Funeral Rites Held Wednesday for Persha D. Nielson Funeral services for Persha Durrant Nielson of Pleasant Grove were held Wednesday, March 9, 1977 in the Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove, under the direction of Bishop Roy Halladay of the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward. Mrs. Nielson died of causes incident to age, Saturday, March 5, at her home. Speaker at the services was Donna Brock, and a life sketch was given by LaRae Nielson. Bishop Halladay also gave remarks. Prayers were offered by Lowell Duvall, Tom Duvall, and Dan Nielson, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by LaRail Nielson. Musical numbers were given by Mary Deveraux and Jana Monson, accompanied by Ellen Monson. LeRoy Nielson played a trombone solo, accompanied by Ingrid Terri. Pallbearers were Kevin Duvall, Wesley Duvall, Bill and Virgil Nielson, Grant and Douglas Leonard. Honorary pallbearers were Jene and Jerry Duvall, Dave and Brent Nielson, Kim Hallet and Jimmy Thomas. Persha Durrant Nielson was born Nov. 14, 1895 in American Fork to William and Eliza Conder Durrant. She married Harry E. Nielson on June 26, 1912 in Provo. The marriage later was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Nielson died Sept. 6, 1957. She was educated in American Fork. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Relief Society teacher, secretary and treasurer. Survivors include a son and three daughters, Harold Nielson and Mrs. Lowell (Bobbie Jean) Duvall, b oth of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. James (Dona) Slater, Lehi; and Mrs. Harold (Edith) Selig, American Fork; 24 grandchildren, gran-dchildren, 78 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters, James Durrant, Salt Lake City; David Durrant, American Fork; Mrs. Ben (Edith) Simmon, Sim-mon, Provo; Mrs. Herschel (Virginia) Green, West Jordan and Mrs. Harry (Hazel) Fay, Fallon, Nev. |
