Show Funeral Services Held Monday for H. E McCandless Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 19, 1977 at 11 a.m. in the Lindon Second Ward Chapel for Herman E. McCandless, 51, who died at a Utah Valley Hospital on Sept. 15 of a heart attack. The services were under the direction of Bishop V. Douglas Johnson. Speakers at the services were George R. Paul and Bishop Glen A. Rhodes and a life sketch was given by Michael T. Seymour. Muscial numbers were given by J. Boyd and Patricia Seely, accompanied by Beverly Christeson, and by William E.Petersen, accompanied accom-panied by LaDean Gillman. Prayers were given by Joseph K. Seely, Verl Kirk, and Edward C. Poulsen, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Russell T. Greene. Pallbearers were Gary L. McGee, Jerry L., Jeff E. and Jay S. Adams, Daniel G., Michael G., Christopher K., and Thomas E. McCandless. Herman E. McCandless was born July 7, 1926 in Pleasant Grove to Elwood Gene and Hazel Green McCandless. He married LaNeve Smith Sept. 21, 1946 in Salt Lake . City. He was a member of the LDS Church, living in the ; Lindon Second Ward. He attended schools in Eureka and graduated from the Pleasant Grove High School. He was a veteran of Worlk War II, and was employed em-ployed at Geneva Steel as a foreman in the open hearth. Survivors include his widown and three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Judy) Seymour, Rockville, Maryland; Mrs. Joseph (Joan) Seely, Albuquerque, N.M.; Joyce McCandless, Lindon; two grandchildren, mother of Pleasant Grove; two brothers and two sisters, Gene McCandless, McCan-dless, Sandy; Mrs. LaRaine (Dolly) McGee, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Elvis (Pauline) Adams, Orem; Jimmy McCandless, West Jordan. |
