Show John W. GiJman Funeral Rites Held on Tuesday John Gillman, 67, of Orem died Saturday Sept 3, 1977 at Utah Valley Hospital of a stroke. Born April 10, 1910 in Lin-don Lin-don to J.W. and Estella Walker Gilman, he married Donna Madsen on Nov. 2, 1932 in trhe Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Gillman was active in civic affairs in Orem and had also served on several state committees. He had been a member of the board of Timp Soil Conservation District supervisors since its organization in the 1940's. At the time of his death, he was president of the board of the Provo Reservoir Water Users Association and on the board of directors of Commercial Security Bank. Survivors include his wife; one son three daughters, J. Wayne Gillman, Bountiful; Mrs. John (Karen) Haebig, Houston, Mrs. Bill (Karmen) Streng, Davis, Calif; Mrs. Vern (Audrey) Bailey, Orem; five grandsons; four brothers and five sisters, Wendell Gillman, Gill-man, Alaska; Glade Gillman, Dean Gillman, Mrs. Sterling (LaRue) Burningham, Orem; Norman Gillman, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Frank (Elda) Walker, Mrs. Eleroy (Beth) West, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Clark (Rhea) Conder, Bishop, Calif.; Mrs. Donna Shilton, Lehi. Funeral services were Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Orem Sixth Ward. Burial was in the Orem City Cemetery. |
