Show Funeral Rites Held On Tuesday for Mabel D. Betts Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 6 for Mabel Diamond Betts, who died on Sept. 3, 1977. The services daughter, Wayne Betts, Orem; Mrs. Gary (Linda) Wood, Pleasant Grove; 11 grandchildren two sisters and three brothers Mrs. Clair (Doris) Haslem, Orem; Mrs. Garry (Gladys) Geiger, California; Vesper Diamond, Martin Diamond, Glen Diamond, Dia-mond, all of Springville. were held at the Timpanogos Stakje Center under the direction direc-tion of Bishop Kenneth A. Slater of the Pleasant Grove Fourth Ward. Speakers at the services were Harold Jacklin, Dean Haslem, and Bishop Slater also gave remarks. Musical numbers were given by Robert Hicks and Hazel Bullock, accompanied by Zoe James. Prayers were offered by Ray Haslem, Eldon Davis, and Paul Whiteley, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicatedc by Gary Wood. Pallbearers were Glen and Martin Diamond, Jay, Mer-vin, Mer-vin, and Lee Betts and Deloy Gurr. Honorary pallbearers were Vaughn Peterson and Vern Jamieson. Born July 22, 1914 in Springville to William Henry and Emma Jane Weller Diamond, she married Clinton Betts on Nov. 29, 1938 in Roosevelt. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Mrs. Betts was a member of the Pleasant Grove Fourth Ward, and had served in the Primary, Relief Society and YWMIA. She had attended schools in Sprinville.
