Show Funeral Rites Held Tuesday for Floyd Tomlinson Funeral services for Floyd 0. Tomlinson, 76, who died of a stroke Saturday, Feb. 28, 1976 in the American Fork Hospital , were held Tuesday, March 2, at 1 p.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary with Bishop Clifford C. Hales of the Pleasant Grove Ninth Ward in charge. Speakers at the services were John P. Fugal and Patriarch Merrill N. Warnick, and a tribute was given by Renae Swenson. Musical numbers, all written by Mr. Tomlinson were a vocal solo, by LaRue Hamilton, "I Wonder If You're Lonesome, accompanied by Donna Keete, and Mrs. Keete also played an organ medley of Floyd's songs. Prayers were given by Merlyn Tomlinson, Kenneth Jarvis, Donald R. Mitchell and the dedication of the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was offered by David F. West. Bishop Hales also gave remarks. Pallbearers were Terry Tomlinson, Ted Tomlinson, Craig Thornton, Jeff Thornton, Donald Park and Jeff Howarth and Honorary Pallbearers were Randy Thornton and Gary Nielsen. Floyd Oscar Tomlinson was born Sept. 4, 1899 in Pleasant Grove to Alfred and Maria Trinniman Tomlinson. He married Merle Wilkinson on Oct. 5, 1932 in Pleasant Grove. He was a painter, fruit farmer far-mer and an elder in the LDS Church. He enjoyed writing music. Survivors include his widow, two sons and two daughters, Ralph F. Tomlinson and Mrs. Hal J. (Mary Alice) Thornton, both of Pleasant Grove; Merlyn Tomlinson, Lindon; and Mrs. Gary L (Joann M.) Utley, Richfield; Rich-field; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Secried) Mitchell, Pleasant Grove. |
