Show Wedding Festival Planned Salt Lake City will host the nation's largest retail wedding show for the third consecutive year. The Wedding Festival production retains its unique status by presenting over 200 exhibits featuring wedding related businesses from the Wasatch Front. The production offers a comprehensive look at planning the wedding day, and how to prepare for a new household incorporating every product and service available. The Wasatch Front produced 14.427 marriages in 1982 for a total cost of SI 15.4 million. Although only 2 percent of the Utah population will marry, this newlywed market is responsible for 13 percent of all retail activity during their first year of marriage and six times that of an average household. The two-day event is highlighted by elaborate stage productions combining information with live entertainment. The shows feature Mr. Bert Parks as master of ceremonies. With songs and softshoe. humor and prizes. Mr. Parks sets the mood for the lovely fashion shows directed and modeled by the Suzie McCarty Agency. The fashions will include bridal and line gowns, tuxedos, lingerie and trousseau items. Modern Bride Magazine will offer the talents of Ms. Virginia Railsback (courtesy of J.C. Penney) in etiquette, preparation and organization. The production music is presented by Joe Muscolino's Big Band to create a wedding wonderland you won't want to miss.
