Reece Murdock Mur-dock of American Fork announce an-nounce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Caroline Petrea, to Douglas E West, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. West of 340 Locust Avenue, Pleasant Grove The couple will be wed on Thursday, Aug. 28, 1969 and will be honored with an open house reception that evening in The Manor, 215 North Center, American Fork. The bride graduated from American Fork High School and Seminary. She was a member mem-ber of the high school band, Pep Club and the National Honor Hon-or Society. She was a Sterling Scholar in business, and a delegate del-egate to Girls' State. She served serv-ed as editor of the high school newspaper, and has attended Utah State University on a scholarship the past two years. Miss Murdock is employed as a legal secretary in Provo. The groom is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and Seminary, and was active in football and track. He served serv-ed six months active duty with the Pleasant Grove Army Reserve Re-serve unit, and has served four and a half years in the Logan Army Reserve. Mr. West is a recent graduate gradu-ate of Utah State University in political science and economics He holds a secondary education educa-tion teaching certificate. The groom is now employed at Timpanogos Cave National Monument, and will attend the BYU as a graduate student this fall. |
