Wins Scholarship Bonnie Peterson Gets $175 Nursing Scholarship at 'Y' Bonnie Jo Peterson, student of nursing at Brigham Young University, has been awarded a $175 scholarship by the American Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary Department Depart-ment of Utah. She is the daughter daugh-ter of Madge and the late Don R. Peterson, Pleasant Grove. The qualifications for the cash award, only one of which is given in the State of Utah each year, are as follows: 1. The applicant must be the child of a U.S. Service veteran. 2. Must be approved by the local Auxiliary unit. 3. Must present letter of recommendation rec-ommendation from local minister min-ister or bishop and high school administrator. 4. Must be registered or accepted ac-cepted for registration in a recognized rec-ognized school of nursing. Bonnie is a 1968 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, where she was prominent in musical and pep club activities and was a 1967 delegate to Girls State. According to the bishop of her ward, she has always been active ac-tive in church affairs and is the holder of six individual church awards. At the present time Bonnie is serving as a nurses aid at the LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City. The announcement of the granting of the award was made by Reva Ahman, chairman chair-man of the Education and Scholarship Committee of Unit 70 American Legion Auxiliary. |
