Open House Sunday to Honor Couple After Fifty Years of Wedded Life Mr. and Mrs. Elvin R. Thorne will be honored on their Golden Wedding anniversary at an open op-en house hosted by their children. chil-dren. It will be held this coming com-ing Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m. at their home, 306 South First East. All friends and relatvies are invited to attend, and the couple request no gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Thorne were married Feb. 6, 1918 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Both are lifelong residents of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. Mrs. Thorne is the former Mabel Jensen. Both have been active members mem-bers of the LDS Church. Mr. Thorne has held many positions in the church, having served ten years as counselor of the First Ward bishopric. He also served on the Pleasant Grove City Council. They are the parents of three children, Mrs. Jack (Cleo) Kirk of Orem, Mrs. Teddy (Jeneall) Fautin of New Orleans, Louisiana, Louis-iana, and E. Max Thorne of Pleasant Grove. They have 8 grandchildren. |
