Show Ann Matthews Is Feted at Parties Prior to Marriage Miss Ann Matthews, bride-elect of the week, has been honored this week at pre-nuptiail parties. On May 22 Joan Butt and Peggy Kirk were co-hostesses at an afternoon af-ternoon party. The affair was held at the home of Mrs. Butt's paients, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Haycock Hay-cock and featured a personal shower. The guests also contributed to and made a bride's scrapbook, played fun games, lenjoyed tasty refreshments and showered the bride-to-be with dainty personal gifts. Another really nice affair honoring hon-oring the popular bride-elect, was staged Monday evening- at the home of Mrs. J. L. Thorne, a pantry pan-try shower. Assisting hostesses to Mrs. Thorne were her daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Robert Hclstrom, Mrs. Robert Josie and Mrs. Morgan Evans. The home and garden was picturesque pic-turesque with colorful blooms. Games and merriment were in order or-der for all. The bride was given many ideas on how to conduct her new life and was showered with gifts to stock her shelves. Miss Matthews on June 6 will become the bride of Vern K. Rowley Row-ley in the Salt Lake Temple. |
