Show Reception Honors Young Couple in First-Fifth Ward One of the very nicely arranged wedding receptions of the early winter was that given by Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Johnson for their daughter daugh-ter Jeannine and Alden H. Laney, in the Pleasant Grove First-Fifth Ward Friday evening. Background for the reception line featured large satin silver bells, entwined with green ribbons. Assisting the young couple and their party in receiving relatives and friends were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Mark A. Laney of Murray. The attractive bride greeted friends in a floor length gown of silk embroidered tulle over white satin, modeled with long pointed sleeves, round neckline outlined with sequins and baby pearls. A dainty crown outlined with seed pearls released the double tulle fingertip veil, all designed and made by the bride herself. She carried a bouquet of deep red roses. Her attendants, all similarly in green seafoam gowns carrying nosegays of pink and white carnations car-nations were Glenda Llewllyn, matron ma-tron of honor; Sandra Cullimore, maid of honor, and bridesmaids Gene Dalton, Karen Johnson, and Carrie Laney.' Burt Laney assumed assum-ed the role of best man for his brother. The bride's mother was attired ina pastel green knit gown while the groom's mother choose an attractive at-tractive blue-gray - gown. Both pinned on pink camelias tied with silver ribbon. Greeting guests at the door were Bishop and Mrs. Lewis Har-mer Har-mer and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Day. Formally clad young ladies who served were JoAnn Radmall, Louise Lou-ise Richins, Nona Kirk, and Jane Ingersoll. Arranging the lovely gift display dis-play were Mrs. Welby Gammon, Mrs. Vera Cullimore, Miss Ruth Richards and Miss Shirley Swen-son. Swen-son. The young couple were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple with Elder John E. Hawks officiating. offic-iating. Witnessing the impressive ceremony were the bride's parents, the groom's parents, Bishop and Mrs. Welby Gammon, the groom's grandfather Laney and grandmother grand-mother Hastings. Following the temple rites, the entire party were guests of the groom's parents at a wedding breakfast at Harmon's. The newlyweds are making their home in Magna. |
