He said he was to have been on Lindon's city council agenda the next night, but the city decided to keep him off the agenda until he had a lease in hand. Tucker said he had talked with Pleasant Grove mayor Jim Danklef about concerns over emergency medical services at the track, and he presented the results of a sound test conducted con-ducted Saturday, March 15, by certified industrial hygienist Kerry Smith. Tucker said the report showed the decibel level measured from the 10 points around the bottom of the landfill is generally less than freeway noise. He said part of the reason people don't like the noise of motocross is that they're not as used to it as to freeway free-way noise. Landfill manager Stewart Cowley told the board at their March 17 meeting he left the test "convinced that the sound issue was less of an issue than I thought it would be," but concerned with how much dirt the wheels kicked up and how quickly the cyclists "got to places we didn't want them." Much of that meeting involved a long discussion about maintaining the integrity of the clay cap, and board chair David Adams relayed that concern to Tucker after hearing the results of the sound test. Tucker replied that Lindon's Lin-don's permit was for only two years because the planning plan-ning commission wanted to see what would happen with noise, dust, develop- mtnt the and EMS ' ) longer iUl t Volm ea to 1 work at,; wou ri k.
