The Pleasant Grove Vikings won two straight tennis matches last week. At Provo, Pleasant Grove won 4-1 March 26. Thursday saw the Vikings win 3-2 on the Spanish Fork Dons' home courts. While the scores for the March 26 matches weren't available, Viking coach Mel Schetselaar said, Wyatt Gage and Tyler Healey won their singles matches. "Our No. 1 singles player Ben Wilkey was the only one who lost on the 26th," he said. For the Provo matches, Pleasant Grove's No. 1 doubles dou-bles team consisted of Carlson Taylor and Mike Wilkey. Jesse Wilde and John Lodee played on the No. 2 doubles team. Both doubles teams lost their matches to Spanish Fork players, but Schetselaar said Pleasant Grove won all three singles matches. The Bangers defeated the Spanish Fork Jr. High Dons 13-0 to lay claim to their season-opening tournament tour-nament title. The team record of 7-0 included victories over the Dixie Rebels 11-4, Farmington Falcons 8-1, Carbon Sluggers 16-2, Hobble Creek Hurricanes 2-0, 2-0, Lehi Tigers 8-4 and Washington Terrace 4-0.
