Her knowledge of curriculum cur-riculum will be an asset in opening a new school, district dis-trict officials said. "Jane's people skills and her work with gifted and talented as well as disadvantage disad-vantage programs make her a natural," said John Burton, supervising administrator admin-istrator of K-6. "She is a humane and sensitive individual, qualities quali-ties which will ensure her success in opening a new school. We are very happy with her appointment." Van Alfen has been principal prin-cipal of Suncrest Elementary since 1995. Prior to joining Alpine School District, he spent three years as an elementary elemen-tary principal in Oregon. "Mr Van Alfen brings a long history of care and dedication dedi-cation in public education," said Dr. Gary Seastrand, assistant superintendent K-6. "Not only is he an excellent excel-lent administrator, his proven skills in bonding together teachers, parents and community will be an asset in providing excellent education for children." The opening of the new Eagle Mountain area elementary ele-mentary school in August 2002 will allow the nearly 900 elementary students in Eagle Mountain to attend a neighborhood facility, district dis-trict officials said. Home and Garden Show is expanded this year Utah County's annual Home and Garden Show has been expanded to "The Good Life Expo" this year to include home, garden, family, fami-ly, health and wealth. The Expo exhibits and experts in a wide variety of fields available to Utah Valley residents. This years show will be held Friday, March 15, from noon until 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Like the 10 previous years, the show will be held at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. Ron Payne, producer of the show, said, "The Good Life Expo promises a great assortment of exhibits, each offering the visitor a chance to discover a wealth in services, serv-ices, information and special spe-cial pricing." Admission is $3, however free VIP passes are available avail-able from any of the exhibitors before Friday. Senior citizens are invited to attend on Friday with free admission all that day.
