Coach Mike Daniel said, "I have a comeback come-back team. Now, I just need to work on getting them to be better game starters. "Orem has a great team, but our defense was able to hold them off." The Vikings also won a weekend tournament tourna-ment at Bingham High School by defeating 5A power Skyline. Pleasant Grove visits Timpanogos tomorrow and Lone Peak on Tuesday. Softball players sought for team Softball tryouts for a 14-and-under competitive league girls team have been set for Saturday at American Fork High School. The field is east of the football foot-ball stadium. The session will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to last about two hours. Any girl who will turn 14 in 2002 or later is eligible to try out; there are no boundary restrictions. Interested players should come appropriately dressed with their own glove and water. Bats and helmets will be provided for hitting. There will be a fee to play in the ASA softball league, with the amount to be determined by the number of team members. By Dean Von Memmott Sports Correspondent The Timpanogos Timber-wolves Timber-wolves shut out the Pleasant Grove Vikings 6-0 on Pleasant Grove's soccer field Sept. 5. The Timberwolves went ahead 4-0 in the first 10 minutes, but after that, goalie Felicia Marzan and the other Vikings managed to keep Timpanogos from jacking up the score over the next 30 minutes. Michelle Geddes made big contributions to the Vikings' defensive efforts. Long drives directed by teammates Kim Mahoney and Maile Yuzon couldn't produce good positions for the Vikings to take shots from. Pleasant Grove fired only five shots for the afternoon. after-noon.
