Show Milk Drinking Young Ladies Invited To Enter Utah Dairy Princess Contest Among competition rules are these: 1. She must be at least 16 years of age by October 1, 1958, and must not be over 25 yeai-s of age as of October 1, 1958. 2. She must not be, nor have been, married. 3. She niu.sL be a high school graduate. 4. She must be available for personal appearances during the year, commencing with her selection selec-tion and continuing until the 1959 Princess is selected, if she is named nam-ed American Dairy Princess. 5. She must be able to present a medical doctor's certificate stating stat-ing that she is in good health. Milk drinking beauties in Utah county this week were invited to enter Utah's annual Dairy Princess Prin-cess competition. Rules were released re-leased by Wallace A. Parrish, Logan, Lo-gan, state competition chairmen. Wilbur C. Parkinson, Salt Lake City, is co-chairman. Mr. Parrish said that most counties coun-ties will select their Dairy Princess Prin-cess winners during or immediately immediate-ly prior to June Dairy Month. "All county winners will compete in the state finals in November, with the state winner being announced on an hour-long television extravaganza extrava-ganza sponsored by Utah Oil Refining Re-fining Company," Mr. Parrish said. The Utah winner will also receive an expense-paid trip to compete in the national finals of the American Amer-ican Dairy Association. Chairman of Utah county competition com-petition is Don T. Allen of Vineyard. Vine-yard. Local contest adviser is John J. Barnard, county agent. "All participants will be wise to remember that milk and milk products pro-ducts contribute much to beauty." Mr. Parrish said. "Milk is rich in Vitamin A and riboflavin, both important im-portant to skin health. Milk is also abundant in calcium, for developing develop-ing good bones, teeth and tissues A quart of milk provides the normal nor-mal woman more than half her daily requirements of body-building protein." 6. She must, if under 21 years of age, present a signed statement of consent to enter the contest from her parents or guardian. The contestant must also be willing to sign photographic releases for publicity pub-licity purposes. Professional models are not eligible eli-gible to compete in the contest. Judging will be based on the following fol-lowing major points: a. Healthy appearance, natural attractiveness. Because of the widespread and very false impression impres-sion that milk is fattening it is recommended that the states select sel-ect candidates who meet as closely close-ly as possible the recommended height and weight ratios. b. Public speaking ability will be very important. c. Personality will be important. Girls must be able to meet people easily and exhibit friendliness. |
