Show Jesse M. Walker Funeral Services Held On Thursday Funeral services were conducted yesterday in American Fork for Jesse M. Walker, 68, patriarch and former stake president of Alpine Al-pine Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a prominent prom-inent educator, who died last Sunday Sun-day of a heart ailment. Mr. Walker, a former mayor of American Fork, who taught in the Alpine Schools district for years, was stricken while attending Sunday Sun-day School. Active in the educational field for the past 44 years, he had been principal of American Fork high school for 31 years. He began his career as an educator in 1910 as teacher, and later principal at Pleasant Grove. Mr. Walker had been active in a number of local and state secondary sec-ondary education organizations and had served in several positions posi-tions of leadership in these groups. He was active all his life in Church work, having held numerous num-erous positions in the church. Born Dec. 15, 1885, in Pleasant Grove, he was a son of A. B. and Jesse Holman Walker. On Aug. 23, 1911 he married Fern Adamson Adam-son in the Salt Lake Temple. Surviving in addition to his widow wid-ow are the following sons and daughters: El wood A. Walker, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Clark K. (Ellen) Brown, American Fork; Mrs. Soren (Fern) Sabey, Afton, .Wyo., J. Myron Walker, with the U.S. Army, Ft. Ord, Calif. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, grand-children, and a brother and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Johnson, Mrs. Margaret West and Lawrence Walker, Pleasant Grove. |
