Show :uneral Rites Held Vonday for .erena Lim Nielson Y:-:y impressive funeral rites ere conducted Monday for Mrs. .erena Lim Nielson, in the Third ixth Ward Chapel, which was fill-d fill-d to capacity with sorrowing elatives and friends, who assem-led assem-led to pay last triubte of respect 3 the beloved mother. The service began at 1 p.m. with arloy Christiansen of the Third "Turd Bishopric in charge. Invocation was offered by J. C. lilton, and opening remarks were iau2 by Mr. Christiansen. Speakers who paid tribute to he unselfish devotion and patience f Mi s. Nielsen, mother of 11 child-en, child-en, were Neils Fugal, who after 'aying tribute to the deceased and o ail mothers, stressed the thot hat immortality is for everybody, ait eternal life, only for those vho keep the commandments of od. M. S. Christianson also discussed iternal life, while Joseph S. Walk-'r, Walk-'r, former bishop of the Third A'ard, spoke mostly of the sacri-:ices sacri-:ices and the great blessing's of notherhood. Music interspercing the speak-:rs speak-:rs were two vocal duets "Softly ind Tenderly Jesus Is Calling" and 'Lay My Head Beneath the Rose" y Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Mien, accompanied by Janiel Fu-g-al, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. The closing number was a duet, 'That Wonderful Mother of Mine" sung by LaRue Morton, and Ken- neth Robinson, accompanied by . Fern Smith. Prior to the church service, prayer pray-er in the Nielson home was offered of-fered by Bishop Calvin Walker. Benediction was pronounced, by C. A. Fugal. Interment directed by Olpin-Sundberg Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where Harold Keetch, a son-in-law, offered the dedicatorial prayer. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were William Keetch, Lyman Nielson, Grant Nielson, Von Nielson, Jay Nielson, Lee Nielson, Honorary pallbearers, Vance Keetch and Buck Nielson. Flowers were cared for and arranged ar-ranged by Pleasant Grove Third Ward Relief Society. Mrs. Lerena Nielson, 72 died at her home Thursday at 12:45 p.m. after a month's illness. Bom in Pleasant Grove on Feb. 5, 1884, to William and Maria Lim. Married Henson W. Nielson Feb. 29, 1900, at Pleasant Grove, later solemnized solemniz-ed in Salt Lake Temple. He died in 1932. Served as Primary president. presi-dent. Survived by six sons, daughter, Nello H., Burton J., George L., Glen C, Douglas E., all of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; William L., Lehi; Mrs. Harold (LeRena) Keetch, Lindon; 29 grand children; six great-grand great-grand children. |
