Show Funeral Held For Jefferson 'G. Hunt Last Saturday. Impressive funeral services were conducted in the First ward L. D. S. Chapel on May 15, for August Paulson, 73, who died at his home Friday, May 11, of a heart ailment. ail-ment. The services began at 3 p. m. with Paul Blackhurst of the First ward bishopric in charge. Invocation was offered by Bishop Bish-op Ertman Christensen. Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Warren Kirk sang, "When I Take' My Vacation in Heaven." First speaker was John L. Adams, a neighbor, who paid tribute tri-bute to the many fine traits of Mr. Paulson's character, as a neighbor.a churchman, a citizen, all leading to a well rounded life. Hilding Marlow, a nephew, after paying tribute to the memory of his uncle, spkoe of life as a vacation vac-ation from, which if we obey the commandments of God, ends when we again enter His presence. Closing remarks of sympathy and appreciation were made by Mr. Blackhurst. Warren P. Kirk sang the final number, "Going Home." He was accompanied by Mrs. Kirk, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. Benediction was pronounced by Orval Bullock. Jesse K. Thorne offered the dedicatorial prayer in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, where interment, directed by Olpin Mortuary took plac. Pallbearers, all close relatives were Joseph Hanson, Jesse K. Thorne, Hilding Marlowe, Stanley Swenson, Melvin Marlow and Harold Lloyd. arranged by Pleasant Grove First Flowers were cared for and arranged ar-ranged by Pleasant Grove First Ward Relief Society. Mr. Paulson was born Aug. 26, 1877, in Bertilstorp, Sweden, a son of Mons Nelsoa nnd Hannah Jor-anson Jor-anson Paulson. He came to America Ameri-ca at the age of 17, settling first in South Dakota, where he worked on a farm and on the railroad. He came to Utah in 1903 and was employed in Magna as a brick mason. He was married to Emma Lloyd Payer and came to Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove in 1934. Survivors are his widow, a son Harold Roy Paulson, Salt Lake City; three step children, Heber Player and Mrs. Glen Foley, Sacramento, Sac-ramento, Calif.; Mrs. Simpson, Reno, Nevada; three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ole Hansen, Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Mary Marlowe, Kent, Washington. |
