Show Funeral Services Pay Tribute To Ethel Olsen Touching and impressive funeral funer-al services were conducted Wednesday Wed-nesday at 6 o'clock for Miss Ethel Olson, who died Saturday from injuries in-juries received in an automobile accident four days earlier. The service was held in the Manila Man-ila ward chapel with Bishop War-nick War-nick Swenson in charge. The opening number, "O My Father was sung by Mrs. E. Ray Brown, accompanied by Lucy Haycock. Hay-cock. Invocation was offered by Glen Taylor. Speakers who paid tribute to the life of the dead girl and offered words of faith and encouragement to her family were Miss Tyra Anderson, An-derson, a nurse at the hospital where Miss Olson was employed, Warren Anderson and H. V. Swenson. Swen-son. All spoke of the quiet unassuming unas-suming life led Miss Olsen; her love and devotion to her family, her friends and her work. Musical numbers interspersing the speakers were a vocal solo, "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows" sung by Mrs. Brown accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Haycock; two numbers' "In the Garden" and "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose" by Morley Steele. He was accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Owen Humphries. After closing remarks by Bishop Bish-op Swenson, Ivan and George Mon-son Mon-son accompanied by Mrs. Stephen Wamick sang the closing number "Sometime We'll Understand." Benediction was pronounced by Alex Wadley of the bishopric. Interment was made in the family fam-ily plot in the Pleasant Grove cemetery cem-etery where R. D. Wadley offered tiie dedicatory prayer. Miss Olsen was born Sept 24, 1909 in Pleasant Grove, a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Olsen. Ol-sen. She had been employed at j the American Fork hospital for more than six vears. 1 She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-ay Latter-ay Saints. Surviving are her father; five brothers, Joe, Earl and Roy Olsen, Pleasant Grove; Ray Olsen, Provo; Pro-vo; Leonard Olsen, Magna; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Jacklin, and Mrs. Pearl Bertin, American Fork. |
