Show Mrs. Lydia Henson Mathews Dies Wednesday Mrs. Lydia Hetty Henson Mathews Math-ews died Wednesday forenoon at her home here, following a years illness. I She was born in Franklin, Idaho, Id-aho, on Nov. 27, 1877, and when a girl moved with her family to -Lehi, where she attended school and spent her young womanhood. On April 7, 1903, she married Daniel E. Mathews, an moved to Virgin, Washington County, where they made their home until 1939. when they came to Pleasant Grove. Mr. Mathews died in 1941, following foll-owing an automobile accident. As a member of the LDS church, Mrs. Mathews was active mostly in relief society work, having served ser-ved in the presidency of that organization or-ganization and also as a visiting teacher, which position she held until the time of her death. She is survived by three sons, William and George Mathews of Virgin and Lionel Turner of American Am-erican Fork; four daughters, Mrs. -Pauline isrown ot Honolulu, Mrs. Odessa Severson, Mrs. Ruby Huntsman and Mrs. A.rema Turner of Pleasant Grove, two grandchildren grandchild-ren who Mrs. Mathews reared since the death of their mother, Peggy and Lynn Beames, eleven other grandchildren. Four sisters, Mrs. Luana Price and Mrs. Sarah Carter, Mrs. Jemina Jones of Lehi and Mrs. Fern Gough of Midvale. Funeral services are pending. |
