Show Funeral Kites Are Held For F. S. Humphries Impressive luncral rites were conducted con-ducted Wednesday afternoon tor 1''. S. Humphries, former resilient, and former florist of Pleasant drove. The second ward chapel was well filled with relatives and friends, and the floral offerings were outstanding.. out-standing.. Bishop C, It. Clark of the Second ward was In charge. Mrs. J. E. Ilardnian and Mrs. Lola Lo-la nil "Boors, aooompanled by Miss Carol Clark sang the opening number num-ber "Pace To Pace", Invocation was offered by Jos. .11. Adams. B. H. Adams former Bishop of the Second ward was the first speaker, and eulogized the fine active life of Mr. Humphries. Mrs. J. P. Fitgal, formerly a very close neighbor recalled the ever kindly deeds and sincere sympathy of the Humphries family, their devotion de-votion and great faith in the Gospel. Arthur Taylor of Provo Third ward, who expressed admiration and ward appreciation for Mr. Humphries Humph-ries and his daughter Inez Anderson Ander-son and family of the Provo ward. I Musical numbers interspersing the speakers were a vocal duet. "O My Father" sung by Mrs. ..Ethel Carlson Carl-son and Mrs. Leone Told. They were acompanied by Mi.-s Clark.' and a violin solo. "One Fleeting Hour" by Alfred Swenson of Provo accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Alone Simmons. After closing remarks by Bishop Clark. Ray Shelley sang. "That Silver Sil-ver Haired Daddy of Mine." He was accompanied by Mrs. Owen Humphries. Humph-ries. Benediction was pronounced, by Tlios. Gleason, sad E. P. -Walker offered the dedicatory prayer in the Pleasant Grove City cemetery. Pall bearers all grandsons of the departed were: Vern Humphries. Howard Humphries. Guy Humphries. Humph-ries. Arthur Powell, Harold Cook. and Dick Anderson. Mr. Humphries died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Inez Anderson in Provo, of infirmities incident to advanced years. He was born in England, May 27, 1859, a son of Daniel and Mary Dyre Humphries. He came to PI. Grove at the age of 26 and had lived liv-ed here all his life since. He married Emily Gardner Nov. 3. 1886 in the Logan Temple. She died in 1932. He was active in the Church o'f Jesus Jes-us Christ of Latter-day Saints and in civic affairs. He was a high priest at the time of his death. In early years he organized or-ganized a Sunday School choir. He filleTT a mision to England from 1897 to jRt)9. He was Pleasant Grove sexton sex-ton for r-o years.
