Vc . t Word was received Tuesday by Mrs. Fern Wadley Edwards of American Fork of the death of her son Richard Paul Edwards, Seaman lat Class.- -'-x- -r-- The young man died of illness somewhere in the Souht Pacific on August 31st. He was born in Salt Lake City, a son of Vivian nad Fern Wadley Edwards. When a small boy he moved with his mother to American Ameri-can Fnrlr. nuViprp hn craHuftted from the American Fork high school in 1943, as valedictorian of his class. While in high school he. was a member of the national honor society. soc-iety. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy on June 4, 1943,' and received his basic training at Farragut, Idaho, and after training in a California base .he left in December of the same year for overseas. He has been very active in L. D.
