Show Funeral Services Held For Warren Beers Lnder the direction of the Second Sec-ond Ward bishopric impressive funeral services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon for War- , ren Beers. Mr. Beers died at a I'lovo hospital last Sunday morning, morn-ing, following a year's illness. The services, directed by Bishop C. II. Clark, began at 2 o'clock. The opening number, "Beautiful Isle" was sung by the Singing Mothers." They were directed by Mrs. Pearl McMillan and accompanied by Mrs. Sarah S. Clark. Invocation was asked by Dr. James O. Meeks. Speakers who spoke words of condolence and encouragement were H. W. Clark and S. A. Kirk, both of whom had many contacts and dealings with Mr. Beers and his .famliy. Each told of the fine work done by the departed, and of his friendliness and neighborliness to all. Interspersing the speakers Mrs. Leland Beers, and Mrs. J. E. Hard-man Hard-man sang two duets, "Face To Face" and "In The Garden." They were accompaniedd by Mrs. Clark. Closing remarks of sympathy and appreciation were made by Bishop C. n. Clark. The Singing Mothers 'endered the closnig number, "Abide With Me.'" Reed O. Walker of the Bishopric pronounced the benediction benedic-tion and interement took place in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where John T. Williams pffered the dedicatory prayer. Pall bearers sons and sons in law of Mr. Beers included: Leland Beers, Elmo Beers, Eugene Beers, Ray Beers, Joe Chorneak and Hugh Wad ley. "Out oi town people attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Beers of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Beers of Midvale Mrs. Franklin Beers of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Grace Williams of Beams. Mr. Beers was born in Pleasant Grove, April 3, 1880 a son of Franklin and Elizabeth Glives Beers. He spent his early life in Pleasant Grove, and married Miss Emma Freestone and moved to Vernal, . where he resided until 1919 returning to Plep.sant Grove during that year. He followed the occupation of carpenter and plasterer plast-erer and was very well trained in this type of work. He leaves the following sons and daughters: Leland Beers and Ray Beers of Pleasant Grove; Eugene Beers of Midvale, and Keith Beers of the U. S. army in Hawaii and Mrs. June Chorneak of Pleasant Groe: 15 errand children, two brothers. Franklin Beers of Salt Lake Citv, and Milton Beers of California: sisters: Mrs. Jane Mc-arthur. Mc-arthur. of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Annie An-nie T Driers of Venice Califonia, and Mrs. Mary Browning of Ogden Utah. |
