Show Funeral Rites Held Monday for William L. Green Funeral services were held Monday, July 16, at 1 p.m. in the First Ward Chapel for William Will-iam Lewis Green, 81, who died Saturday of natural causes in a Provo Hospital. The services were under the direction of Bishop Gordon All-red. All-red. Speaker were Bishop Harley M. Gillman, Pres. Holley K. Myers, and remarks were given by Bishop Allred. Colleen Cord-ner Cord-ner gave a life sketch. Family prayer was given by Bishop Glade C. Hilton, invocation invoca-tion by Ralph Handley and the benediction by Bishop Ruelon Robbins. The grave was dedicated dedi-cated in the American Fork City Cemetery by Grant Pal-freyman. Pal-freyman. Vocal numbers were sung by JoAnne Brady and Jeanne Walker, and William Petersen, accompanied by Nora Larson and by Mary Louise Cook, accompanied ac-companied by Donna Gillman. Linda Gillman played prelude and postlude music. Pallbearers were Kelly Myers, My-ers, Kaylon Whiteley, Randal Green, Gill Hilton, Quinn Gillman Gill-man and Wayne Herbert. Honorary Hon-orary pallbearers were Jerry Ferguson, Chris Sorensen, Kenneth Ken-neth Myers, Alan Gillman, Jeff-ery Jeff-ery Hilton, Bill Ferguson and Byron In The Woods. Mr. Green was born Sept. 21, 1881 in Pleasant Grove, a son of Samuel J. and Maria Josephine Joseph-ine Holman Green. He married Myrtle Ivy Adamson Aug. 8, 1911 in Pleasant Grove, and their marriage was later solemnized sol-emnized in the LDS Temple. She died March 26, 1946. He later married Maud Cartwright Hadley in 1955 and she survives. sur-vives. He was a farmer and high priest in the LDS Church and was also active in civic organizations. organ-izations. He is survived by his widow, two sons and five daughters, David A. Green, Alpine; Samuel Sam-uel J. Green, Midvale; Mrs. Grant (Elizabeth) Palfreyman, Springville; Mrs. K. Holley (Wilma) Myers, Pocatello, Ida.; Mrs. Harley M. (Mary Jane) Gillman, Orem; Mrs. Glade C. (Myrtle Vee) Hilton, and Mrs. Shrylan (Kathlen) Whiteley, both of Pleasant Grove; 29 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, Renard Green, Orem; Lemar Green, Lindon, Mrs. Elizabeth El-izabeth Millar, Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Leo (Nellie) Aston, Spring Dell. Also surviving are a stepson and stepdaughter, Ralph Hand-ley Hand-ley and Eva Jean Hurbert, five step grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. |
