Show Funeral Rites for C. Thomas Yates Held Last Saturday Funeral Services were held Saturday at noon in the First1 Fifth Ward Church for Chares Thomas Yates, 72 who died in the American Fork Hospital last Wednesday. The services were directed by Bishop Gordon K. Allred of the First Ward. Speakers at the services were Patriarch Lewis J. Harmer and President T. Ardie Adams, and a life sketch was fiven by Dorothy Dor-othy Terry. Musical numbers were given by Jeanne Walker and JoAnne Brady, "Sometime We'll Understand," Un-derstand," and "Watch and Pray", accompanied by Laurel Laur-el Thorne. Family prayer was given by Charles Thomas Yates and the invocation by Varcel Vee Reynolds. Rey-nolds. Benediction was given by David F. West. The grave, in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, was dedicated by John Elmer Yates. Pallbearers were Fichael and Reynolds and Michael Terry Bill West, Dennis and Douglas and Duane Yates. He was born Oct. 17, 1899, in Mona, a son of John Edward and Elizabeth College Yates. He married Sarah Jane Lindsay, Lind-say, July 2, 1921 in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in thhe Salt Lake Temple. She died Nov. 30, 1945. He then married Edra West Aug. 25, 1949. He worked on construction for many years and then worked work-ed at the Utah State Training School in American Fork, retiring re-tiring in 1963. Active in the LDS Church, he was a high priest in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove First Ward at the time of his death. Survivors include his widow, one son and one daughter, Charles Thomas Yates Jr., Woods Cross; Mrs. Vee (Lois) Reymonds, Bountiful; 16 grand children; six great-grandchildren; two stepsons, David F. West,, Pleasant Grove; Varian LeVeral West, West Jordan. |
