Show Funeral Services Held Monday for William C. Smith Impressive funeral services in memory of William C. Smith 80 , life-long educator and church leader and former resident resi-dent of Pleasant Grove, were held Monday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. in Timpanogos Stake Hourse. Directing the services was Bishop Mack Palmer of the LDS Grove Ward. Mr Smith died September 18 1969 in a Bountiful Hospital following fol-lowing a stroke. Speakers, who told of the long and purposeful life of the deceased were Pres. Merrill N. Warnick, Bishop Arnold J. Irvine and Edward H. Soren-son. Soren-son. A life sketch was read by John P. Fugal and Bishop Palmer gave fitting remarks. Mrs. Walter K. Rohloff sang, "I Need Thee Every Hour." Walter E, Koecher played a violin solo, "Largo" by Fredrick Fred-rick Handel. A vocal solo, "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions," was rendered by Stanley B. Burningham and the prelude and postlude were played by Irwin Jensen. Family prayer was led by S. Cooper Smith, Henry Smith asked the invocation and benediction bene-diction was pronounced by Moroni W. Smith. Pallbearers were Bountiful Val Verde Third Ward High Priests, Dan Lawrence, Devon Johnson and Dernal Thompson and Grove Ward High Priests Bishop Harold S. Walker, Bishop Bish-op Harold H. Bullock and Bishop Bish-op Ben E. Whiting. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Grove Ward Relief Society. Mr. Smith was born June 1, 1889, Colonia Pacheco, Chihau-hau, Chihau-hau, Mexico, a son of Jesse N. Jr. and Mary Ann Mitchell Smith. He married Fern Ey-ring, Ey-ring, August 15, 1917 in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died May 2, 1960. Married Rhoda C. Bykes Nov. 22, 1961. He lived Snowflake, Arizona, 1917-1937, taught LDS Seminary; Semin-ary; teacher, Snowflake Academy; Acad-emy; bishop I3V2 years Snow-flake Snow-flake ; moved to Pleasant Grove 1938; taught Seminary until 1954; member Timpaongos presidency; stake high council; worked in scouting program in Snowflake and Pleasant Grove ; since retirement worked genealogy. gene-alogy.
