Show Funeral Rites Held Tuesday for Ardena Atwood Funeral services in memory of Ardena Jane Atwood, 72, were held Tnuesday, June 17 at 2:00 p in the Pleasant Grove Third-Sixth Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop Carl W. Ringger of the LDS Tihrd Ward. Miss Atwood died at the Utah Valley Convalescent Center, Provo, after an illness of many pears duration. Speakers ,who told of the long useful and patient life of the deceased, were Marvel A. Smith and Merrill N. Warnick. A life sketch was read by Margaret Mar-garet A. Herbert and Bishop Ringger gave remarks of solace sol-ace and consolation. Viola Beers and Hazel Bullock Bul-lock sang, "In the Garden," accompanied by Catherine Rees. LaDocia Wagstaff and Fern Renoldfson sang, "Abide With Me," accompanied by Lydia Kirkpatrick. William Beck favored with a musical rendition, "Oh My Father," and the prelude and poslude organ music was played play-ed by Scott Smith. Family prayer, the invocation invoca-tion and the benediction were offered by Millen D. Atwood, Merrill W. Beck and Harold S. Walker, in that order. Pallbearers were Grant, Fred, Lynn, Royale and John R. Atwood At-wood and Douglas A. Beck. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Third Ward Relief Society. Burial was in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where Reed A. Beck dedicated the grave. Miss Atwood was born March 5, 1897, in Pleasant Grove, a daughter of Millen Dan and Sarah Wanlass Atwood. She never married. She was a member of the L. D. S. Church, and had served as a Primary teacher, as a stake Primary officer, and secretary sec-retary of the Relief Society. After 25 years service she retired re-tired from Mountain States Telephone Company in Pleas-Grove. Pleas-Grove. Survivors include a sister, Sadie A. Beck, Pleasant Grove, and several nephews and nieces. |
