Show Funeral Services Held Monday for Rudger D. Smith Funeral services in memory of Rudger D. Smith, 75, were held Monday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. in the Lindon Ward Chapel, under un-der the direction of Bishop Mor-ley Mor-ley Keetch. Mr. Smith died July 30, 1969 in a Provo Hospital of a heart ailment. Speakers who told of the kindly kind-ly purposeful life of the deceased de-ceased were Bishop Leon Walker Walk-er and Verl H. Kirk. Bishop Keetch also spoke words of comfort and consolation. William E. Petersen favored with two vocal solos, "Going Home" and "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine," accompanied by Rena Keetch, who also played play-ed the prelude and postlude. Aaron Walker and Arthur Day sang a vocal duet, "In the Garden." Family prayer was led by Mahlon Smith, Jed England asked the invocation and benediction bene-diction was pronounced by Arnold Ar-nold Hooley. Pallbearers were James and Danny Smith, Hal and Nyal Richins, Jed England and Dan Berry. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Lindon Ward Relief Society. Burial was in the Orem City Cemetery, where the dedicatory dedica-tory prayer was spoken by William Earl Giles. Mr. Smith was born Dec. 30, 1893, in Lindon to Melvin and Clara Tomlinson Smith. He married Delia Richins on Mar 18, 1925, in Salt Lake City. He was a farmer, a member of the LDS Church, and a veteran vet-eran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, sons, daughters: R. D., Annan-dale, Annan-dale, Va.; Nyal J., Mrs. Herman Her-man (LaNeve) McCandless, both Lindon; Mrs. Rex (Janice) Berry, Tooele; 15 grandchildren; grandchild-ren; brother, sisters, DeWitt, Greendale, Wris.; Mrs. Arnold (Melba) Richins, Pleasant Grove; Mrs Vilate Rodeback, Provo; Mrs. C. L. (Verona) Hess, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; Mrs. Jasper (Rebba) Worthen, Las Vegas, Nev. |
