Show Funeral Services Held Saturday for Mary R. Johnson Impressive funeral services for Mary Emma Roberts Johnson, John-son, 84, were held Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. in the Second-Fourth Second-Fourth LDS Ward chapel, under un-der the direction of Bishop Glen A. Phillips of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Fourth Ward. Mrs. Johnson died June 5, in a Provo hospital from natural causes. Speakers, who paid tribute to the deceased as a wife, mother, neighbor and church worker were Gerald Belliston and Merrill N. Warnick. A life sketch was read by Sytha W. Johnson. Patricia and Boyd Seely sang two duets, "My Faith in Thee" and "Hold Thou My Hand" accompanied ac-companied by Rosalie Jacklin. A duet, "My Lord is Waiting in the Garden" was rendered by Cheri and Connie Peay, accompanied accom-panied by Barbara Thomson. Mrs. Jacklin played the prelude and postlude. Family prayer, the invocation invoca-tion and the benediction were offered by Wayne Peay, Royle Johnson and Jay Johnson in that order. Pallbearers were Wayne, Marvin, Dean and Jaren Peay, Jay, Royle, and Rolan Johnson John-son and James Studstrup. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Fourth Ward Relief Society. Burial was in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery where Patriarch Cecil Ash dedicated the grave. Mrs. Johnson was born April 19, 1885 in American Fork, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Conder Roberts. She married J. Irving Johnson, Sept. 16, 1904 in Provo. The marriage was later la-ter solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr Johnson died Feb. 15, 1962.' Mrs. Johnson was a lifetime Relief Society teacher and a member of the Old Folks Committee. Com-mittee. Survivors include sons and daughters: Lyean I., Mrs. Golden Gol-den (Stella) Peay, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Al (Christie) Studstrup, Stud-strup, Reno, Nevada; Eldon Pleasant Grove; 15 grandchildren, grandchild-ren, 29 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ermina Joseph, Long Beach, Calif. |
