Show Funeral Rites Held Last Friday for Jeffery A. Goss Funeral services for Marine Lance Corporal Jeffery A. Goss, followed by full military rites were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Fri-day, June 14 in the Lindon Ward Chapel, under the direction direc-tion of Bishop Morley Keetch. Cpl. Goss. a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald' M. Goss of Lindon, was killed in action May 24, 1968 at Da Nang, Vietnam. Speakers who told of the high ideals and patriotism of the young serviceman were Tyler Rogers, Dennis Hill and Mack Ostergaard. Bishop Keetch, also al-so spoke words of eulogy, comfort com-fort and sympathy. Earlene Monson, Sherry Mon-son, Mon-son, Roslyn Rees, Sandra Larson Lar-son and Eileen Armitstead favored fa-vored with a vocal number, "My Buddy," accompanied by Catherine Rees, William E. Petersen sang two solos, "Going Home" and "Let There be Peace on Earth," also al-so accompanied by Mrs. Rees. Prelude and postlude were played by Karen Walker. Family prayer was led by Victor M. Ashworth, Keith Wilkinson Wil-kinson asked the invocation and benediction was pronounced by Preston Atwood. Serving as pallbearers were members of the 21st Rifle Co. Marine Corps Reserve, Salt Lake City, who also conducted full military rites at graveside. Flowers were arranged and cared for the by the Lindon Ward Relief Society. Leon Walker dedicated the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. |
