Show Funeral Services Held Last Thursday For John Roberts Funeral services were conducted last Thursday at 1 p.m. for John C. Roberts, in the First ward LDS chapel with Boyd Anderson of the ; First Ward bishopric in charge. The service opened with prayer by President Vilace Radmall. Life sketch was read by an aunt, Maud Melville. Warren Kirk, accompanied by Mrs. Kirk sang "Softly and Tenderly, Ten-derly, Jesus Is Calling." First speaker was Elbert Stevens, Stev-ens, nephew of Mrs. Roberts, followed fol-lowed by an organ solo "O My Father," by Ken Perry. Second speaker was Owen Staples, Stap-les, a cousin of Mr. Roberts. Both speakers paid tribute to the departed de-parted and his family, and offered words of faith and encouragement. Prelude and postlude music was played by Edith Callister, piano, and her daughter, Linda, violin. Closing remarks were made by Boyd Anderson. William F. Stevens, brother of Mrs. Roberts, pronounced the benediction ben-ediction and the dedicatorial prayer pray-er in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was offered by J. Lee Andersln. Pallbearers were members of the Seventies Quorum, Gerald Belliston, Eldon Johnson, Eldon Jacobs, Harold Armitstead, Harold Har-old Clark, Richard Allred. Mr. Roberts died in an American Ameri-can Fork hospital March 7. |
