Does he display great contriving adapting and proportioning skill’ as manifested in dements mixed and combined and seen in the adaptation of men beasts and plants to peculiar regions and climes ? A great painter ndorner and lover of decorative skill is lie as declared in the combined hues and glorious forms of life he has produced ? So mail (made in his image )moving in his little cramped up sphere to the extent of his field of operations exerts constructive abilities till he stands a tiny thing beside the monument of hi own skill displays an inventing ami combining genius and produces also his conceptions of beauty grace and skill in a thousand forms of loveliness and joy IIo Such then we perceive is man embodies within himself Jehovah’s attributes He is allied in his nature to the Infinite and Supreme lie possesses impulses that keep him ever soaring for mastery ami might — ever treading out He holds enersubduing all to his will gies that are ever penetrating exploring Wc behold him now and unfolding weeping that there are no more world to conquer — now lamenting that he cannot explore another million niilos of space — now penetrating the bowels of the earth and comparing its incrustation that lie may judge the process by which it was produced — now soaring in music and in song till our touched sensations tremble with the thrill of harmohere’ emboweling tho ny and delight earth dragging its nigged minerals to light — there rolling out the blackened ore as glittering steel now moulding tho burning mass into tcrriflic limbs and joints — there fitting each to each and giving steam for breath while ho compels thrhuge anus to' twist and thrash its kindred element into shape- - But man stops not here : lie puts hi& hand AVhilo upon every element of nature he drags from beneath its glittering wealth he drawls from above its light and heat: ho dissolves the rock tho flame the herb the tree the flower to get their inmost qualities: he mixes proportions and combines and stamps on all his constructive skill his beautifying and adorning poiver and yet ho soars and but that death and changing circumstances blast and break in upon his plans and the vail of darkness hangs over the future he has impulses that would urge him to aspire to carry into boundless operation the abilities aud attributes with which he is endowed Where would he cease his ambitious efforts for controll over the elements of nature? Where would he cease his efforts for dominion w ealth pr knowledge did not that vail blindingly descend on all around and cut off from his gaze the field of his operations ?” — E L T Har- rison gurriss af ftlumght A Comprehensive Phan — He (God) is compassionate to all the works of His Lands the plan of his redemption and salvation t and mercy is stretched out overall and His plans are to gather lip and bring together and save all the inhabitants of thcearth with-thexception of those who have received the Holy Ghost and sinned against it With this exception all the world besides will he saved —Brigam Young I combat the errors of ages I meet the violence of mobs cope with illegal proceedings from Executive authority I cut the gord-eo- u knot of power and 1 solve mathematical problems of universities with truth diamond truth and God is “my right hand man' — Joseph Smith Give Truth a fair and open field Let her grapple with errror Who ever knew Truth worsted? — MCUon I “When will Christ come!” — “ When will be the day of righteousness that we talk about when peace and truth aud the Kingdom of God shall cover thcearth as the waters do the deep ?
