Contemplating the necessity of providing work for the men released from the army the state road commission has issued orders for the construction of ninety-eigh- t miles of hard surface highways in Utah next summer. Utah county, according to the schedule, is .to get thirty-fiv- e and miles, which will give us a paved road from the point of the mountain, on the north to Payson on the Bouth. Salt Lake countys paved road will be extended ! to meet the Utah county line, thus giving us a paved highway from Payson to Salt Lake and from Salt Lake to Ogden, thence on to Brigham City. Thev Commission authorized State Road Engineer Ira to order immediate surveys, so that bids cfan be called for and contracts let early next spring for the completion of the work during the summer. Following are the sections of hard surfaced highways for which surveys are to be made at once: , Twelve miles in Davis county to complete the paved road between Salt Lake and Ogden. miles Eleven and from Midvale Junction to the Utah county line. miles Eleven and from the Utah county linex to American Fork.
