They visited at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Blanchard Dixon of Payson and Mr. and Mrs. George Vincent of Spanish Fork. They returned Tuesday morning to their home in Modesto, California. Making plans for an October 30 wedding are Miss Judy Lynn Swan of Spanish Fork and Mr. Barry Dan Bishop of West Mountain. A reception hosted by the brides parents will be held at the Spanish ForkStake House Friday evening, October 30. All friends and relatives are cordially invited. Republican ladies tour Utah County Mrs. David Laurence McKay and Mrs. Emma Rae McKay Ashton told ladies attending four receptions in Utah County today (Thursday, October 22) that, Because Richard Richards is dedicated to good government, we and our families support his election to the Congress of the United States. Mrs. McKay and Mrs. Ashton campaigned on behalf of Richard Richards for Congress throughout the day with Mrs. Annette Richards, the wife of the candidate. They left Oct. 30 to return to Fitzsimmons General in Denver, Colo. He is under treatment for injuries received in action while serving with Armys Ameri-c- al Division in Vietnam. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shepherd recently in Vale jo, Calif., with their daughter, Diane, and husband. Mrs. Orgille is a nurse at a veterans hospital inSt. Petersburg, Florida and arrived by plane for a weeks visit. Mrs. Spencer and her husband, Randy Spencer, and little Dirk came by car from Chula Vista, Calif., where Mr. Spencer is stationed with the Navy. He visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Spencer in Salem and also at the Herbert home in an overnight stay and then returned to the coast. Mrs. Spencer and Dirk returned to California by plane. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rodgers visited recently in Lancaster, Calif., where they Everybody Is Reading The Payson Chronicle Mrs. Emma Rae McKay Ashton is the daughter of the late LDS Church President, David O. McKay. Mrs. McKays husband, David Laurence, is the late Presidents eldest son. The three ladies, Mrs. McKay, Mrs. Ashton, and Mrs. Richards were honored at receptions in Orem at the home of Mrs. Ellis Rasmussen; In Spanish Fork at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Enoch A. Ludlow; and in Provo at the home of Mrs. Helen Skousen, They met hundreds of ladies in their four stops who were anxious to hear the reasons why these members of the McKay family would be out campaigning for Richard Richards. When asked why she was out working for Richards lor Congress, Mrs. McKay said, I have worked with Richard for many years in activities of the Utah Republican Party, and I know him to be an honest, hard working young man. I like his stand on the issues, and I know he can be depended on to do what he says he will do. Because of his dedication to good government, my family and I support Richard Richards for Congress," she said. Mrs. Emma Rae McKay Ashton said she is working for Richards because I feel it is important to elect the right man for Congress. He has tremendous experience which his opponent does not possess. The couple also have another son, Brett Lee, who is now five years old. A birthday dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Gerber honored her mother, Mrs. A. L. Pace, on the occasion of her 84th birthday, Oct. 20. Attending were Mr. Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Dockstader and son, Kelly, Payson; Mr. and Mrs. Vergil Neves and children, Spanish Fork. Those who called at the Pace home that evening included Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Pace Jr Mr. ancW4rs. Wilson W. Pace and family, all of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pace of Thistle; Mrs. Carol Smith and husband and baby, Salt Lake City. Mrs. Arthurella Daley Jenkins has purchased a home located at 549 South Main Street, and has moved here from Reno, Nev., where she has resided for some time. Her husband, Richard Jenkins, died at their home in Reno several months ago. A daughter, Josette Jenkins, is serving as an LDS missionary in France. |
