Members of the Junior Delta Bridge Club celebrated the 49th anniversary of the founding of the club at a luncheon given last Monday at Browns Cafe in Spring-vill- e. The club was organized March 17, 1921. Charter members as remaining members are Mrs. Clyde W. McMahan and Mrs. Leila W, Gray. Other members today, who are also of long standing in the unit, are Mrs. Emma D. Cluff and Mrs. George F. Wilson. Mrs. Ray Done, once again residing in Payson after spending years in Portland, Oregon, was a guest at the anniversary party. Mrs. Lawrence Wilson enetertained members of her bridge club Thursday evening at her home. Guests in addition to club members were Mrs. Viron Davis, Salem; Mrs. Eugene Smith and Miss Joyce Wilson. High score awards were pre- sented to Miss Wilson, Mrs. Weston Bean and Mrs. Madeline Erlandson. Mr. and Mrs. Var Rosenbaum visited last Sunday in Spanish Fork with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Rosenbaum. The occasion was the 70th birthday of his father. They report his mother to be recovering satisfactorily from surgery performed recenly. Mrs. Phyllis Madson Tate, Mrs. Var Mrs. Frank Madson, all of Payson; Mrs. Judd Mann and Mrs. Jerry Christensen of Orem hosted Mrs. Noel Dixon in a trip to Salt Lake City when she celebrated her birthday March 6. The ladies enjoyed luncheon and attended the motion picture, Hello Dolly. Rosenbaum, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Phipps, Evanston, Wyo., formerly of Payson, have received word from their son, Spec. 4 Harold E. Harris, informing them that he is enroute to Korea, where he expects to be stationed during the coming year. Young Harris was on leave in January and spent part of his time in Payson visiting with friends. His new address is as follows: Spec. 4 Harold D. Mrs. Phil BaUard and family, recently of Sacramento, Calif., spent a couple of weeks in Utah and were joined Saturday night by Mr. Ballard for the trip on to Seattle, Wash., where they will reside. While here, they were guests at the home of her mother, Mrs. Lawrence Walker, at Pleasant Grove, and also visited in Payson with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Faye Fielding, who were hosts at a dinner party, with another sister, Mrs. Aaron Stoddard and children. So enthused were the Senior Citizens after the program that they invited a group of patients to come back for the Senior Citizens award program to be held May 6. After the program the Senior Citizens joined the patients in several dance mixers and the patients had a chance to show what they had learned in the recreational therapy classes. Ned Stringham is head of the community relations program and he escorted the group to Eureka for this event. Mr. Stringham reports that if other civic and school groups are interested in seeing the program offered by the patients they may set a time by contacting Mr. Ned Stringham at the Community Mental Health, 160 East Center, in Provo. Senior Citizens from Goshen attending the program last Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Finch, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Finch, Mrs. Myrtle Hansen, Mr. Milton Buxton and Rex Barney. After their business meeting, cookies, doughnuts, coffee and hot chocolate were enjoyed by the group. It was served by the Goshen members. Mrs. Hazel Gaser spent the weekend recently with her son, Ralph, and family in American Fork. Dr. and Mrs. W.L. Lafferty returned home Sunday evening from a delightful vacation spent in Hawaii. They were houseguests at the home of his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis C. Lafferty, at Koneohi. Both are employed at the shipyards, located in the area of Pearl Harbor. The Literary Club was held Monday evening at the home of Naomi Jermain last Monday evening. A tribute was given to each one by a counselor who served with the president or by a friend. An interesting program was presented and tasty refreshments were served.
