PG presently has a 1 win 6 loss record, while the Lions have a record, but PG will be up against Provo this Friday, and only a very foolish person would be brave enough to pick the Pioneers over the Bulldogs. Second game at 8:00 wiU have Judge Memorial against either PG or Payson. On Feb. 26 games will shift to either Provo or Spanish Fork Gym for the finals, with the losers of the previous night starting off at 6:00 and the winners at 8:00. The loser of the first game is eliminated from the state championships, the other three going in the State A Tournament starting at BYU on March 11 and running through March 14. In view of the Lions showing against both Lehi and Pleasant Grove, the Lions have a terrific opportunity to advance to State, providing they play up to their fuU potential, and they can get some good shooting from all the starters. Both the Lehi game, which Lehi won 5, and the PG game which the Lions lost 1, should have been 1- -7 48-4- 68-6- the Lions, as they held leads and were hitting well in the first half both times. However, the team will be called upon to put out a full four quarter effort, and not lose the shooting touch in the second half, if they really want to play in State, and this is the reason for the whole season, really. These kids have come a long way since the first game of the season. Teamwork has improved so much, it is hard Vo recognize them occasionally, they really get going and put the whole thing together, almost running their opponent out of the gym. Then, suddney, the defense shifts, and the Lions cool at the same time, and a good lead is slowly shaved, until a shift is made, and eventually the Lions lose, usually by a very slim margin. During the regular season, Pay-so- n was really out of the game against Spanish Fork and finally Orem. In all of the other games, they were either close or won. Sooooo everyone plan on being at BYU on February 25 to seethe first game, and then the 26th for the final game of the round robin. won by Mr. and Mrs. George F.
