Show -- news of servicemen- - Robert Measom Robert Measom has completed his term of enlistment with the National Guard and has returned to his home in Payson. He was with the Utah 259th Quartermaster Battalion which. was activated early last summer and sent to Vietnam inSeptember. Mr. Measom has been with the national guard some 13 years. He and his wife, Erma Olsen Measom, and their children reside in Payson. Mr. Measom is formerly of Spanish Fork. John Wilson Lt. John Wilson plans to leave Thursday for Denver, Colo., where he will receive treatment at Fitzsimmons Hospital for an illness incurred while serving as an artillary officer in Vietnam. Lt. Wilson has been with the Army almost three years. He was in Vietnam four months. Following his release from duty the latter part of this year he plans to return to sudies at Brigham Young University. His wife, former Susan Johnston of Spanish Fork, and their children, Brent, 5, and Jennefer, one year of age, are residing in Payson during his absence. Aviation Electricians Mate Third Class Floyd V. Clayson, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern H. Clayson of 185 S. Center, Santaquin, Utah, is serving with Attack Squadron 25 aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga off the coast of Hawaii. Corsiar II aircraft, Flying the the squardron is undergoing intensive carrier operations in preparation for a fourth combat tour of duty off the coast of Vietnam. Emphasis of the operations will be placed upon improving air-t- o ground weapons delivery technique. A-- Dee Ar Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen B. Davis of Salem, returned home Friday March 7, 1969 after being discharged. He spent three years in the Marine Corps, one year of which was in Vietnam. He plans to resume his studies at the BYU this fall His recruit training was at San Diego and from there to Cherry Point, North Carolina foe a year. He also spent 3 months in Puerfo Rico as a jet fueler. In July of 1967 he went to Camp Lejuene in North Carolina where he trained to become an infantryman. Dear Mr. Henderson: The Payson Chronicle has been arriving fine here in El Salvador. It brings with it many interesting items my parents wouldnt think of, or have time to write me. The baby was blessed in church servicesSunday and after church a family dinner was given at the home of Mrs. Spencers parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Herbert, in Payson. Others attending were Randfs parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Spencer and son, Jeff, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spencer, all of Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Turner of Salt Lake City. Paul Spencer performed the ordinance work in blessing the new baby. PAYSON Thursday, March 13, 1969 Airman Apprentice Gary Schwartz, USN, son of Mrs. Verda Schwartz of 940 E. First St. S., Payson, Utah, completed the Aviation Mechanical Fundamentals Course at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Term. course he was During the four-weintroduced to mathematics, physics, and the principles of electricity. He also studied atomic structure, static and dynamic electricity, magnetic theory and the theory and construction of aircraft batteries. The purpose of this course is to provide selected Naval and Marine Corps personnel with a basic background of the knowledge and skills for the more advanced Aviation Machinists Mate and Aviation Structural Mechanic courses at Memphis.
