Show Junior Cultus Club Hears Book The Payson Chronicle, Payson, Utah THURSDAY. FEBRUARY 3, 1966 BY RUBY MEREDITH A Young Artists Music Festival was held Tuesday evening at the West Ward chapel under the direction of Mrs. Judy Rowley, Bob Finch and Mrs. Lora Rowley. Young artists participating were Suzanne and Keith Nay, Donna Seat, Jan DeHart, Marilyn Rothe, Mrs. Martha Hall, Milan, Ray Lynn and Melvin Hurst, Mrs. Betty Hurst, Karen Kenison, Leslie Shepherd, Diane Francom, Breida Rowley, Carol Ann and Deona Jackson, Danny Erekson, Marcene Spencer, Joyce Hill, Paul Rindlisbacher, Susan Finch and Shirl Hendrickson. Light refreshments were served following the festival. Cultus met at the home of Beth Dixon. Clara for the Holden was Four sisters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hendrickson, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Miles, Mrs. Olive Grean-halg- h, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Finch met Thursday afternoon at the Finch home. They spent the afternoon in research and genealogical work. Scouts from Dens 1, 2, and 4 enjoyed an outstanding evening as they met Thursday with their parents and Cub 3, families at the Cultural Hall. The theme was Transportation and each den presented a display and a skit. A special attraction was a farm display by Cub Scout Harley Hurst and his father. Miles Hurst. This represented hours of work for Mr. Hurst and Harley as they had reproduced in miniature all kinds of farm implements and equipment. Den mothers in charge were Mrs. Betty Hurst, Mrs. Debbie Thatcher, Mrs. Luva Hiatt and Mrs. Donna Stickoey. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller spent Thursday visiting with farm and home formerly owned by Mrs. Walter Kenison just east of the West Ward chapel. Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Hall, parents of Mr. Hall, have moved to Farmington where Mr. Hall is employed. evening. The meeting was ducted by President Deon Grey. The club collect wa s given by Afton Rosenbaum. Special musical numbers were presented by Gloria Barnett, Karma Whitelock, Gwyn Harmer and Erma Measom. They were accompanied by Arlene Provstgaard. Clara Holden introduced the guest speaker for the evening. Lois Rowe from Spanish Fork gave a book review of The Greatest Story Ever Told. The club voted to make contributions to the Penny Art Fund, Dimes For Pines and a contriubtion to State F ederation Officers for a gift to send to General Federation of Womens Club in Washington D. C. Refreshments were served to 20 members and two- pests. con- Birthday greetings were extended to David McOmber of Provo at a dinner in his honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Abner Baird on Monday. Other guests present were Mrs. McOmber and six children and Mrs. Rebecca Twede. attended a birthday dinner in honor of Grant Rowley and Reed Rowley Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norval Kitchen in Orem. Ten couples ware present. Mr. and Mrs. Max Depew as their guasts for a few days Mr. Depews cousin and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Evans, of Raymond Alberta, Canada. The Depews are happy to announce the arrival Monday, Jan. 24th, of a granddaughter born to Kenneth and Ann Ellison Depew. They have five other daughters. Don Ellison is the paternal grandfather. Cindy Farr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Farr, enter- Kathy Robertson, Larry Stanton tained sixteen friends at a birthday party on her eighth birthday Tuesday afternoon at her home. On Sunday they were hosts to the following pests from Salt Lake City: Jon Wittwer, a BYU graduate now employed at Sperrys in Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Badham, Madge Fairbanks and Mrs. Rofell Reece. Mrs. Shuler and Mrs. Wittwer left Wednesday to visit these people at their homes in Salt Lake, and later will go on to California. They plan to stop in Whittier to spend a couple of days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wilson before going on to Chula Vista. Mrs. Shuler will remain with the Wittwers for several weeks before returning to Payson. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Nelson and children visited in Salt Lake last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Nelson and Mr. and M rs. Jerry Nelson from Salt Lake visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Radcliff Nelson, last weekend. The Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tilby visited in Scipio last Sunday. Ward M.I.A. Young Artists Music Festival was held Tuesday night with fifteen young people participating. It was a concert evening by the music directors Marie Depew and Ann Tenney and M.I.A. officers. A large crowd was in attendance. His family, the Rex Peerys, accompanied him. Mrs. George LeFevre went to Provo on Monday and visited until Wednesday with her mother, Mrs. Beatrice Y. Moore, at her home. Dr. and Mrs. Watson L. Lafferty are the proud grand- of a baby girl. Parents of the new arrival are Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hickman. The little miss arrived Jan. 19. She is parents their first child. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Knapp visited with his parents, the Oliver Knapps, on Sunday. CRADLE ROLL The birth of a first child, a baby boy, to Steve Tavy and his wife, Carol Pulver Tavy, on Jan. 30 in Bountiful was joyous news for several local people.
