February g to 15 is the 54th anniversary for the national organization of the BSA. In May, 1913, the LDS church adopted the boy scout program for young men in the church. It was the first church to officially adopt this boys program, and since that date nearly all organized churches in America have followed their .example. Since that time thousands of young men have enjoyed the scouting program and used its ideals, teachings and skills to develop the qualities of self reliance and leadership that are desirable in good American citizens. From February 2 to 15 scouting displays will appear in many Payson store windows. All Cub Scouts, Guide Patrol, Scouts and Explorers will wear their uniforms to school and church. All Den Mothers, Cub Masters, Guide Patrol Leaders, Scout masters Explorer advisors, troop committeemen and district leaders are participating. Nebo District Scouts have scheduled their annual for Tuesday, February 11, at the Payson High School Fun-O-R- gym. Nine Scout troops will compete for the top trophy to be presented to the outstanding troop winner of the contest held. Parents of Scouts are invited as special guests.
