(ANS) The historic city of Williamsburg, Va., saw yet another tribute to our American heritage when the American Heritage Foundation awarded top honors to the Army, Air Force and Marine Corps for the best Jobs of informing service personnel of our free way of life and the threat of international communism through the use of Armed Forces radio, television and newspaper facilities. The awards were made by Brendan Byrne, Director of the American Heritage Foundation during a recent morning ceremony at the Williamsburg Inn, The winners were: Radio: Armed Forces Korean Network (AFKN) Mercury," operated by the Army at Kun- -' san Air Force Base, Korea. Forces Armed Television: Television Station, operated by the Air Force at Ramstein, Germany. Newspaper: TRIAD, publication of the 3d Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force, Fleet Fost Office, San Francisco, Calif. Lt. Col. Donald A. DeGavre, Deputy Chief 6f Staff for Personnel, U. S. Continental Army Command ; and Brig. Gen. Robert P. Taylor, Deputy Chief of Chaplains, C. S. Air Force. In the afternoon, the group traveled to St. Johns Church in Richmond, Va., where, on April 23, 1775, Patrick Henry delivered his famous Liberty or Death speech. Edward L. Katzenbach, Jr., was the principal speaker at the afternoon ceremony. Judging for the awards was on entries which ran during the period November 15, 1961 to March 15, 1962. Each military service Judged its own entries and submitted its best for each medium radio, television, and newspaper to the Foundation for the selection of the winners. They spent a week at Cardston, Elberta, Canada, at the home of Bob West, with whom they made the trip north. Mr. West, a teacher in the Canadian schools, attended BYU this summer working toward a doctorate degree.
