Show Spring Lake Relief Society Hold Banquet In Honor of Birthday on March 18 In Church Spring Lake News By Lenora Huish The annual Relief Society Birthday party and banquet was held Monday night March 16 in the ward amusement hall. All the women of the ward and their husbands and the widowers of the ward were invited. President Lucille Spencer was in charge, assisted by the other officers, social committee and a decoration commit- tee. A delicious turkey dinner was served at tables beautifully decorated with vases of daffodils and pussywillow. Mrs. Spencer greeted the mother, Mrs. Radcliff Nelson; vocal number by the five Greenhalgh sisters, Dorothy Moore, Teressa Wilde, Marie Peterson, Colleen Wilson and Darlene Fowkes; instrumental number, Lorraine Barker and Jeaniene Carter; accordion solo, Ruth Walker; duet, Finch brothers, Bob and Vernon, accompanied by Albert Payne; solo, Lois Menlove; two black-out- s arranged by Mrs. Zella Peay. Prayers were offered by Bishop Reed N. Moore and George Christensen. About ICO enjoyed the social evening. Very' happy over the birth of a baby boy are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lyman, bom March 6. The couple have an older son. As proud as grandparents can be are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lyman, Spring Lake, and Mrs. Teressa Statts, of Orlando, California. The mother is the former Jean Statts. Jean has been and is at present making her home with Mr. and Mrs. guests and introduced President Madge Christensen who gave a short talk on the organization of the Relief Society, its purpose and the efficient work done by the members. Mrs. Spencer also introduced Mrs. Maxine Moore, who was MC for the program: trumpet duet, Jerry and Gary Nelson accompanied by their Roy Lyman. Jerry, who had been here on a visit with his family, left on Monday on his way to Japan where he will be stationed at an airforce base near ToJean received word kyo. from him from Hawaii where he had a two hour stop before going on to Japan. Fanny Butler from Kearns, spent last week visiting at the home of her brother and sister, Ray and Lenora Huish. She went home on Sunday with her granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Searle and children. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Peery spent the week end visiting at Ely, Nevada, and sightseeing at the Lehman Caves. Mack Lawrence, formerly of Salt Lake City and Provo, has been appointed Provo District Manager for the Mountain States Telephone Company, according to Theron W. Johnson, local Manager for the Company. Mr. Lawrence will succeed Carlos Yeates who was recently transferred to Denver, Colorado as General Rate and Tariff Engineer. The Provo District extends from the Point of the Mountain North of Lehi to Kanab and St. George in Southern Utah. Mr. Lawrence was. born in Salt Lake City.
