Loveridge of Piovo who has served two terms1 in the house of representatives of the state legislature, announced her candidacy Saturday for the nomination as state senator from1 Utah county on the Democratic ticket in the primary election. Active In public and civic af- -' Mrs fairs for many years, Loveridge is at present serving as chairwoman of the Utah county Democratic committee. Her church activities includes service as an executive officer of the MIA and director of activities for Gleaner Girls and M men. She served two terms as president of the State Beauticians association. In 1943 she was appointed by Governor Herbert Maw to the advisory council of the state welfare commission and is now serving as vice chairman. Mrs. Loveridge is also vice president of the Provo Business and Professional Womens club and holds membership and office in the Women's legislative council of Utah county, the Navy Mother club and tbe auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Her only son, Max is a veteran of World War II, having served In the South Pacific for three years. During her two teims in the state legislature, Mrs. Loveridge worked for the continuation and expansion of ti.e Central Utah Vocational school and for the education bills of the two sessions. She served as cl airman of the house health committee in the 1945 session and was also a member of the committees on welfare,1 education, industrial school and school for the deaf and blind.
