Show I FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 1930 THE PAYSON CHRONICLE, PaYSON, UTAH T At a lmetuu; of the principals of the m'IumiIs of X.'l,,) District last Saturday, a, aiiu'i'i.i: i.ts were made for census. This census lal.iii.; the is In he taken between the 15th and the .'ll.-- of October. Throughout the state this is a very important mattir since school moneys coming from the slate tax arc divided ace n ding to the census lists. It is, thcicfoje, a i. lions obligation on all eilic,' is as well as on the ptincipals of il.e vanous schools to see that the cei. us is properly taken and that no child escapes who is legally entitled to he oil the list. Thu ptincipals of the schools are selected to do this work because of their immediate interest in it and bora n e of their knowledge of the children of the community and their access to all roils on which children ate listed. Hut without the help of parents and citizens, generally, this census can not be accurately taken. Every child who is six years of age by the :i 1st of October, and every child who has not reached eighteen years of age by that same date, should he enrolled on the school census and parents should sec that they arc enrolled, ns it means more money for our schools as well as accurate accounting of our children. This census has no relationship to Parents if compulsory education. children who have passed six years of ago but who are not in school, and parents who have young people who are out of school lmt who have not yet reached the age of eighteen years, sometimes fee! that their children should not he on the census lists. Both of these groups should be listed on the census roll, as well as children who, on account of sickness (physical L INDUSTRIAL WEEKLY REVIEW j Uo-a- rs lly gen-wer- LOCAL ITEMS Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Well all I know Is j list what 1 read in tho papers. See where Henry Ford Is prowling around over In Europe, and lie gets tons and tons of mail and Its addressed to him as his Highness Henry Lord.' They think he is King over here. Well he Is not exactly what you might refer too as one of our menial Subjects. Over in a Meuseum In Berlin they have the first car made in Germany, and perhaps the World, for it was made in lSSI, It only had three wheels. It was tho ''Benz made by Karl Benz. But up to going to press he has not been ablo to get it. Was you ever through that place In Dorborn where lie lias all the old Velik-klestored? If you rode In your young days in an old wagon, or sled, or a buggy and have in your old years of reminenring wondered what become of it its right In Henry Fords shed. I never saw In nil my born days as much plunder as there is In there. Old thrashing Machines, dozens of em, old saw mill i ng lues, old fire Engines, Old Hnndsom Cabs. Everything under tho sun that ( Vcr dragged one person from one place to another is In tlic-reso 1 can sure Imagine how he must have wanted that old crate. Well Sir before you know it there will he another election along to pester us. What tlmy have those things for nobody has ever been able to tell. Its just to distribute the jobs around so one man wont have it all the time. Most of the men that are in are trying to stay in and all that are out are trying to cot In. This Is what they call an off year. What they moan by Hint is everybody is running but the fun kidding with him. Met 1dm afterwards and he was a dandy fellow. I dont know how he got strayed off from the herd while they was all going orthadox. He, (this fellow Coolidget is running against William Butler, an old friend of Mr. Calvin Coolidga3. Oh yea and this other Coolldge thats running is a wet! Imagine a wet Cool Idee! Nature does produce pome queer angles. Dont know If Mr. Coolldge will take lfc-- stump to help out his old friend or not. He Is still working on his dally Column and can always say he Is too busy. He Is mighty schrewd and knows how to keep out of these home-talen- t fights. New York pretty near everybody Is running as a wet. Both Republicans and Democratic know there Is more wet votes than there Is dry ones so they both jump that way. That shows right there that the whole thing Is not on the level, for everyone of these public men come out Just according to the way the wind la blowing where they live. Now some of them must have some personal opinion that la not just along with the majority of voters all the time. New Jersey Morrow took a brave stand when It meant something. He wnsent sure he was on the right side or not, but he come out against It. Not that It might have been the right thing to do. but It at least planted him ns a man with his own opinion and he was willing to stand by it. But with all the messing and arguelng over It at the election It wont mean a thing. Nothing is going to be done about It any more than farm relief, or unemployment relief. Ohio they got so scared at their convention, they was afraid to do anything, so they just voted as favoring Prosperity and went home.
