Show Cultus Club News When the Cultus Club met at Bank Club Room on March 16, 1983, Marjorie Warren, Health Chairman, was in charge of the afternoons program. She introduced Arlene Lyman as the guest speaker. lc Papon drnntrlc School Lunch THURSDAY Zions Lyman also stressed what you eat. Mrs. Lyman related the interesting story of her involvement in Health Foods and stressed the fact that good health is a great gift. We spend hours on grooming, hair, skin and clothes, but little time on our bodies, and we are not as aware as we should be of what we put into them. The human body works as a magnificent computer, but it cannot be replaced. Mrs. President Barbara Jex welcomed members and conducted club business. Margaret Williams was in charge of election of officers for the next club year and passed a prepared ballot to each member. Officers elected are: Una Payne, Betty Mower, secretary; and Gertrude McCoy, treasurer. Martha Tanner, who has served as this year, will assume the office of president. Hostesses for the meeting were Afton Oborn, Lilly Nelson and Una Payne. Nebo Scout District, chaired by Marion Davis of Genola, re- ported a month of super exciting activities. A Court of Honor was held, with many advancements and awards presented, including Stars and Life. A large number of enthusiastic supporting parents, even small brothers and sisters, provided a great cheering section. The Courts were well planned and executed. Scoutmaster Gordon Taylor, Troop 93, enjoyed an exceptional activity in the Uinta Mountains. Commuting by car and truck to Kamas, the group then over the top of the Uintas to the lakes and cabins. They didnt do much skating on the snow-mobile- d Scout of lakes, as the lakes were covered with snow, but they enjoyed camping overnight in the cabins, then retracking to Kamas. The group included nine leaders and ten Scouts. Friday evening, March 18, 1983, a banquet was held, chaired by Mt. Nebo Scout District Chairman Marion Davis, honoring the Scouts who attained the rank of Eagle in the year of 1982. The banquet was held in the Zions Bank building. Speakers were Randy Herrick, a fellow Eagle, and Kevin Nielson, a member of the BYU basketball squad, each charging the Eagles that they were reliable citizens and expected to take their place of leadership in the stream of progressive citizenship. Arrow of the month Spencernamed 'High Point Lady' place in Ladies Western Pleasure district and region competition. She was 2nd place on the state level in this event. Debbie loves horses and has been riding horses since she was old enough to sit a saddle. She has been very active in riding club for ten years and last November she was awarded an trip to Chicago, Illinois, to the National Congress for her record of her horsemanship activities. 4-- IBqckstapWideBqckstggelVideg n Scale KlowS ! He has earned the Arrow of Light Award, the highest award available from the Boy Scouts of America in the Cub level. It is also the only award earned in Cub Scouting that may be worn on a Boy Scout uniform. IT Sooth main PAYSOW 4-- Derin Houser of Pack 3901, Payson 17th Ward, has graduated to Troop 901 achieving the Arrow the highest of Light Award, award available from the Boy Scouts of America in the Cub level. Miss Spencer, daughter of Mont and Sandra Spencer, and a member of the Outlaw Riding Club, earned her trophy for points earned through riding club competition on district, regional, and state levels during the summer of 1982.
