She was a daughter of Jesse Taylor after whom the old Taylor School and the Taylor Elementary School (on the same site) was named. She was a daughter in law of Jonathan S. Page, church and civic leader. Her father served on the board of trustees for local schools for some 21 years, helping to establish graded schools and free schools (paid for by taxation). The film prcscnied the dangers of socialism, the need for limiting governmental control, problems of welfare programs. and the necessity of limiting and eventually phasing out welfare programs. The film urged citizens not to be apathetic towards political affairs and to increase law and order. Joe and Jerrolyn Menlove traveled to St. George Saturday morning. They visited with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Elvon Butler who had vacationed there for two weeks. Saturday afternoon the two couple motored out to Gunlock Reservoir. The Menlove attended Sacrament Meeting with her parents Sunday. Recently 175 scouts 11 to 17 years old participated. Twenty merit badges were offered over 30 instructors volunteers manned the classes. All who took advantage of the couse declared this is one of the most interesting educational, as well as social events held in the district. The District Personel acknowledges the sincere interest of the instructors and the free lime involved and to the Slake presidency for the use of the Center. Jan. 25. 1979 the monthly Scoutmasters Roundtable will be held in the Payson Stake Center at the usual time.
