Dixon announce the marriage of their daughter, Lecia, to Mark D. Andrews, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Andrews of Loomis, California, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints on 1986. Elder Dallin H. Oaks Saturday, December 20, will perform the ceremony. The couple will be honored at a reception that afternoon at the Pullman Inn in Provo. Maid of honor will be Mindy Marshall, Lecia' s niece. Mark's two brothers will serve as best men. A reception in Loomis, California, is planned for Saturday evening, December 27th. The bride has also been honored at showers given by her aunts, by her cousins, and by friends. Lecia will graduate from Brigham Young University next April with a degree in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education. Mark graduated from Brigham Young University last April with a degree in International Relations and is now in graduate school studying Public Administration. The couple will make their home in Provo. Jason Lindsey and Mary Ann Hales to exchange vows One YearOld Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Hales of Santaquin are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary Ann, to Jason J. Lindsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne R. Lindsey of Payson, on Friday, December 19, 1986, in the Salt Lake Temple. A reception will honor the newlyweds that same evening (Friday) from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Payson 4th Ward Chapel. All friends and relatives are invited. Mary Ann is a graduate of Payson High School and Brigham Young University. She is teaching at Farrer Jr. High in Provo. Jason also graduated from Payson High and served a mission in Kobe, Japan. He is presently attending Brigham Young University. They will live in Provo. Baby Report Kylee Draper This little angel is Kylee Draper, and shell be celebrating her first birthday on December 20, 1986. Wishing her a happy one are Jeremy, Kara and Jesse, along with her Mom and Dad, Craig and Annetie Draper. Kylee s grandparents are Clyde and Jeri Hone, Dutch and Mary Lou Draper, and her are John and Lenore Francnm. Robbins. She married Samuel Mathew Bigler Bigler earns Eagle Award Mathew (Mat) Bigler received his Eagle Scout award at a recent Court of Honor in the Elk Ridge Chapel, under the direction of Scouting Coordinator Kim LeBaron. Mats grandfather, Joseph Hill, sang, and remarks were made by his parents, telling of his advancement through the Scout ranks to his present rank as an Eagle. The Charge was given by Kurt Middleton and his mother pinned the Eagle badge to his uniform. Mat is the son of Dale and Joanne Bigler. He is 15 years old and is a student at Spanish Fork Junior High School. He enjoys weight training, football, basketball and PE in general. He wants to be a Scout leader when he is an adult. The village of Elk Ridge had not been identified, so Mats Eagle project consisted of helping make and mount an attractive sign identifying the entrance to the town. Military News Gerry Saunders Pvt. Gerry A. Saunders, son of Dale H. and Connie C. Saunders of Spring Lake, has completed basic training .at Fort Knox, Kentucky. During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions. J. Russon on September 1, Cali- Nadine Jane Fowler Brown, age 89, of Payson, Utah, died Thursday, December 11, 1986, in Orem, Utah, of causes incidental to age. She was bom on April 8, 1897, in Lehi, Utah, the daughter of Edmund H. and Mary Elizabeth Chelton Fowler. She married Darrel Brown on September 12, 1917, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. He died on y May 1, 1963. She attended schools in Lehi. was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints and held many church positions, including stake and ward Relief Society president. She was a worker in the Provo LDS Temple. She served 15 years as a volunteer pink lady at the Payson Hospital. She has been e a member of the Cultus Club and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary volunteer firemen. She was Paysons Mother of the Year She y 1931, in Santa Monica, fornia. Their marriage was later solemnized in a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. They later divorced. She was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. She lived in Orem for the last 15 years in the Orem Timpanogos Nursing Home. She is survived by 1 grandson, Ricks, Idaho; 1 granddaughter, Delta, Utah; 10 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William Bill Russon. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 12, 1986, at Holladay Hills Funeral Home, Santaquin. Burial was in the Santaquin City Cemetery. y y Loren James Maland long-tim- in 1959. She was born on March 12, 1897, in Santaquin, Utah, to William Carter and Betsy Taylor Loren James Maland, age 75, of Payson, Utah, died on December 9, 1986, in the Utah Medical Valley Regional Center, Provo, Utah. He was born on August 11, 1911, in Bountiful, Utah, the son of James William and Sarah Elizabeth Hayes Maland. He married Florence Luker on August 12, 1933, in Spanish Fork, Utah. They were later divorced. He married Lillie Schaugaard Evans on June 8, 1949, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She passed away on June 3, 1986. His family moved to Lake Shore, where he grew up and went to school. He also attended school in Spanish Fork. He was a barber in Spanish Fork with Frank Argyle, Bill Crump, and Bill Vest. He owned and operated a barber shop in Payson before moving to Glendora, California. He returned to Utah and has resided in Santa Clara, Orem, Spanish Fork, and Payson. He was an avid horseman, and was a member of the Diamond Fork Riding Club in Spanish Fork, and the Cockleburr Riding Club in Payson. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, in the Payson 11th Ward. Peterson Sparks Sorensen Peterson, age 65, of Payson, Utah, died December 8, 1986, at the home of her son in Payson of cancer. She was born on January 30, 1921, in Nephi, Utah, the daughter of Albert Franklin and Lillian Leona Blackett Sparks. She married on Paul Monsen Sorensen He 1940. 4, away May passed on February 22, 1954. She married Grant M. Peterson. He passed away on June 8, 1981. She attended school in Nephi and graduated from Nephi High School. She has lived in Nephi, Mt. Springville, Pleasant, Price, and Payson for the past 6 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints and served in many church organizations. She is survived by 2 sons and Paul Gerald daughter: of Florida; Mrs. Sorensen Roger (Joyce Elaine) Harris, Sparks, Nevada; Dennis L. Sorensen, Payson; 13 grandchildren and 3 and 1 sister, Mrs. Elaine Simpson of Ogden. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 12, 1986, in the Walker Mortuary Chapel in Payson. Club members made decorative Christmas wreaths for their homes. Its a new beginning for both the new Dad and Mom as well as the newborn child. There is nothing more precious than a healthy newborn baby. The staff at Mountain View Hospital strive to make this new beginning one of enjoyment and knowledge. This is accomplished by personalized instruction given at the Prenatal classes taught by Jean Groberg, MSN - Mountain View Hospital Education Director. The classes r.rc srhedued to rom 6. !987, begin Jam: 7:00 to 9:00. The instruction will run for five weeks. There is a $15.00 class fee. The classes help answer questions that are simple and also complex like what is happening to the mothers body, what stages of development the baby is in at different times, how to diaper a baby, how and when to feed the baby, what to expect in the Labor and Delivery area.
