EDITORIALS Payson Moves Briskly There are encouraging signs Paysons Chamber of Commerce about to reve itself up like no other chamber in the citys history. And, there is no question the downtown business district already has begun an unprecedented expansion. Both developments are nothing short of excellent not only for the business community, but for every resident of Payson and citizens of the surrounding trade area. They mean the town is on the move, pushed forward by progressive people who are going to make everyone welcome in the community. Perhaps more important, those signs mean Payson businessmen and businesswomen are going to be more competitive. They mean the selection is going to be better with more shops in what this newspaper likes to refer to as Utahs original compact shopping park. The signs are encouraging for another reason. It is to be hoped the Chamber of Commerce never again will hear the words: If we do something good were going to get credit for it. If we do something bad were going to get credit for it. Left unsaid were the more important words: If we do nothing, were going to get credit for that, too." Certainly Payson and the Payson Chamber of Commerce are not anxious for the latter quote to be applied to them. Fortunately, it now appears there will be no reason for those words to be uttered about Payson or the chamber. is -- c- 9, 1972 Stake Sermons Santaquin-Tinti- c 2 82 birthday party MIA Mr. 754-36- 47 and ter three Mrs. Gary Thomas and James Tuckett for their daughter, Natalie, Friday. in MIA work, Viola Mecham received her second award and Loran Draper her first.
