Show Jan Uni Microfilming Corp Box 260b Salt Lake City, Utah fclilOl Orchard hills main street By Ruth Rothe that you plan to display your flag on the Fourth of July this year. It is a wonderful thing to look down main street on that day of all days and seethe rows of red, white and blue flags. The Freedom Foundation, the American Legion, many of the churches, and other organizations are trying to encourage all of us whether we run a business or whether we are just ordinary citizens to fly the colors on this day. They also wanted us to display the flag each day from Memorial Day until the Fourth of July so I hope that all of you participated in this display of patriotism called Operation Close Ranks. Im sure that many of you dont display a flag because you dont own one. Perhaps this is the tme when you should purchase one. Some of the times people have tried to buy flags in Payson they havent done so simply because they could not find any available. This week I called each store in Payson to see if they did have flags for sale. If you hurry you can still get them at some stores. Roys Foodmart has had a promotional deal on with their flags which not only gives you a good buy but also they will give a donation to your favorite scout troop with the purchase of each flag. City Drug still has some available. Chase Lumber at the time I called had one left. The managers of our business stores in Payson are just like other business men, they try to operate on the thory of supply and demand. If there is sufficient call for flags, or any other items, they will do their utmost to make them available for us. If you try to buy a flag and find that the supply is gone tell the manager of the establishment where you shop and see if they can order you one so that you can and the display it on the twenty-four- th other holidays that will come up during the year. While he was alive Ross Dowdle set all of us a good example by flying his flag each and every day. Most of us dont think that we have time for such an effort, but lets see if this Fourth of July, we can fly our flag proudly. Im sure that each of you want to boost Payson in any way possible, so when you feel that there is something which should appear in this column please let me know.
