Show 10 THE PAYTON CHRONICLE Thursday, February 12, 1970- - Movies are hobby I saw it Funny Girl Mrs. Milton Hall, 364 West Payson, told us today, and saw something that I had ten times, Fifth South, each time I not noticed before.,' Then she explained, You know, movies are my hobby. I have collected and saved movie magazines since I was ten years " old." Mrs. Hall said she saw Funny Girl under protest the first time, because she did not think she liked Barbra Streisand. But she was drawn back time after time after that initial viewing. She loved the story, it was so happy, so sad, so and Omar Sharif is such a doll touching in the romantic lead," she remarked. Mrs. Hall said that the first time she sees a picture she is so busy following the story that she sees little of the detail and gets much more out of it in later viewings. Every time she saw Funny Girl" she saw something that she had missed before. She saw Funny Girl all ten times at the Huish Theater in Payson and she saw Sound of Music" eight times at the Huish and seven times elsewhere. After the 15th time she could sing all of the songs in Sound of Music" and she knew all of the Payson since her marriage to Mr. Hall some ten years ago. He is employed as a machinist at Orem and encourages her to enjoy her hobby, being glad that she has only a short distance to travel to attend movies of her choice. Receives award Wilson W. Sorensen, President of Utah Technical College at Provo, received the Book of Golden Deeds Award at a special award banquet of the Exchange Club of Provo. President Delbert Brown told the group that the award was made annually to a citizen of the area who has contributed above and beyond the normal call of duty to the community that they serve. . Ralph Britsch, in citing the accomplishments of Sorensen, said that he had gone the extra mile in the field of scouting, church activities, and in building Utah Technical College at Provo to its present statute. He noted that President Sorensen had just been installed as the president of the Provo Chamber of Commerce and that his efforts have been responsible for the recognition that the College received in being one of the first technical colleges in the country to be accredited by the Northwest Accredition Association. Past recipients of the award include community leaders such as L. J. Eldred, F. V. Nichols, Josephine S. Bird, Scott E. Wilkins, and Ed Shriver. Mrs. Hall is highly impressed withSam McFadden, manager of Huish Theater and his wife, Dorothy, who strive to bring the new motion pictures to Payson while they are still being talked about by the public. She joins others in praise for the McFaddens, who are friendly and accomodating even providing a free telephone for children to call their parents for a pickup after the show is out. She is appreciative of the fact that only high class pictures are shown and that there are no sex movies booked. And though she has no children of her own, Mrs. Hall knows that parents are glad that the Huish Theater has been kept in operation so that young people have a theater to attend without having to go out of town to see a motion picture. She also pointed out that Senior Citizens are benefited and members of the ball teams at Payson High School are given free tickets occasionally. MCD Wilson W.
